LISTEN: Mendelsons Is Closing for Good; Dayton Artists Reflect
A lot of people will be happy to see 2020 go, but when it does, a piece of Dayton history goes with it. After 55 years, Mendelsons Liquidation Outlet will be closed for good. In this segment Culture Couch producer Susan Byrnes brings us voices of Dayton artists who found materials and inspiration there.
Artists featured include: Terry Welker, Tess Cortes, Leesa Haapapuro, Christina Pereyma, and Seth Wade.
Culture Couch is created at the Eichelberger Center for Community Voices at WYSO and supported by WYSO Leaders Frank Scenna and Heather Bailey, who are proud to support storytelling that sparks curiosity, highlights creativity and builds community.
