University Of Dayton Reports COVID-19 Increases, Montgomery County Returns To Level 3 Emergency
On Thursday, the University of Dayton reported a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases, with 148 new positive cases since Wednesday. In a video message to students, University of Dayton President Eric Spina said undergraduate courses would be remote until at least September 14.
“We are not yet where we need to be,” he said. “Please continue to be vigilant. Assume that the virus is anywhere and everywhere. Protect yourself and protect others at all times.”
Montgomery County was elevated Thursday to the red Level 3 Public Emergency status under the statewide advisory system. While new cases per capita had previously been declining in the county, over the past two weeks cases have been rising.
