Ted Froats, a spokesperson for the Dayton VA Medical Center and a veteran of the Iraq War, says like many veterans, he wasn’t sure if he qualified for medical benefits when returned to civilian life.

“I thought that was just for people who had lost a leg, Agent Orange, these kinds of extreme cases. But really that’s not the case, it is open to a lot of veterans.”

Froats says many veterans will be able to enroll for benefits on the spot at the fair. Interested veterans should bring their discharge papers, photo IDs, and social security cards to the event.

The fair will be held Thursday, March 29 on the campus of the Dayton VA Medical Center from 3-7 p.m. The organization plans to hold additional events in the coming months.
