Clinton Running Mate Tim Kaine Rallies Crowd in Springfield
About 200 people gathered outside the Clark County Historical Society in Springfield Wednesday afternoon to hear Democratic Vice Presidential hopeful, and Hillary Clinton running mate, Tim Kaine.
Kaine spoke just hours before tonight’sthird and finalpresidential debate inLas Vegas, Nevada. He emphasized the critical role Ohio often plays in national elections.“Ohio is checkmate. If we win Ohio, this race is over,” Kaine told the crowd.
Early voting is already underway across the state. Rally-goer Kim Fish says she connected with Kaine’s message.
“I really like the fact that he talked about that we’re stronger when we work together," she said. "And I know that that sounds like a tagline, but the Clinton campaign seems to be about inclusiveness and I know from my own life, that’s a good thing.”
Kaine also spoke about tax policy, veterans issues, and what he described as the negative tone of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign. Springfield was Kaine’s second stop in Ohio today. He also spoke Wednesday morning near Columbus.
Vice President Joe Biden wil campaign for Clinton in Columbus and Dayton on Monday. The presidential debate at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas will air live at 9 p.m.on WYSO.
