Police calmly watched but did not make any arrests as protesters filed on stage and chanted “take a knee for Tyre.” Police sayTyreKing was an armed robbery suspect who was shot after pulling a BB gun from his waistband. Protesters like TammyAlsaadawant an independent investigation into the shooting.

“We had to shut this meeting down because we’ve been begging, we’ve been coming patiently, we’ve been working with, we’ve been listening to…and we’re tired.”

Police have defended the shooting, and say all fatal police involved shootings in the city go to a grand jury for consideration.
