What's Great in Dayton: July 15 - 21, 2016
The Poetic Transformation and Identity show features the 2x Grammy Award winning Soul Singer-Songwriter Timothy Bloom and The House Band is the authentic feel good neo-soul jazzy funk, and rhythm & blues music of Vibe 5. This 2 hour production includes a variety of comics, singers and visual artists.
The Hungry, Hungry Farm Animals Farm Walk is Saturday at 2:30 p.m. This experience is about getting your hands dirty and smelling like something special. Learn to do hands-on work around the farm- from hauling water for the horses to collecting eggs. Come along to meet the animals and feed them their evening meal. Give hay to the horses, grain to the pigs, and more! Wear clothes that can get fowl- smelling!
The Dayton Mini Maker Faire is coming to Carillon Historical Park on Saturday from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. Make It Dayton will come alive with tinkerers, inventors, hobbyists-- anyone who creates with their own two hands. This family friendly event features robotics, blacksmithing, rocketry, sewing, steam engines, 3D printing, live demonstrations, and hands- on activities.
The Dayton Blues Festival, is Sunday, 1:00 to 9:00 PM. This free concert features seven live bands and food, beer, and merchandise vendors. Blankets and lawn chairs welcome. Sorry, no tents, coolers, pets, grills, outside food and/or beverages allowed.
The 26th annual festival of new plays, FutureFest, comes to the Dayton Playhouse stage in one incredible weekend of live theatre. Six original plays, each performed once, and adjudicated by theatre professionals from across the United States. Performances begin next Friday July 22 at 8 PM and conclude Sunday.
