Talking Terrace: Cincinnati's Once-Famed Hotel Now Among Most Endangered
Downtown Cincinnati's Terrace Plaza Hotel was once among the city's centers of high society, with its striking mid-century design and fancy dining and drinking establishments. In recent years though, the shuttered and rundown hotel has been the center of controversy over its future.
Now, a national historic preservation organization has listed the hotel among the 11 most endangered historic places in the country.
On Cincinnati Edition, we explore its history, including a discussion on its trailblazing woman architect, and look at what could be its future.
Joining the show are Cincinnati Preservation Association Executive Director Paul Muller; author of Terrace Plaza - An Icon of American Modernism Shawn Patrick Tubb; and National Trust for Historic Preservation Program Officer Jennifer Sandy.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
