Boone County Closes Schools, Moves Classes Online

Along with many local universities, Boone County Schools on Wednesday announced that starting next week, there will be no in-person classes and instead, students will be working form home up to April 20.

A letter on the district's website says it is taking the measure after Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in the state and to be in accordance with the guidelines of the Northern Kentucky Health Department.

"However, if the state of emergency is lifted before April 20 we may resume classes," the letter says.

The cafeteria will also remain open for students who receive free and reduced breakfast and lunches, but parents will need to call the cafeteria to place a request for either meal.
