Cincy Stories started in 2014 with an idea between two friends. While working at Fireside Pizza in Walnut Hills, they talked about what they find so meaningful about sharing stories. And those conversations led them in 2015 to host a storytelling night in the basement of MOTR Pub.
Now, five years later, Cincy Stories has grown. Their storytelling night has moved to a larger venue at the Woodward Theater, and Cincy Stories is a 501(c)(3) that has captured stories in six different neighborhoods in Cincinnati.
On Friday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m., Cincy Stories hosts an anniversary party at the Woodward Theater in Over-the-Rhine.
Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss five years of storytelling are Cincy Stories Co-Founder and Executive Director Shawn Braley; Co-Founder and Creative Director Chris Ashwell; and Board President Jena Bradley.
Cincy Stories is also working on a feature length film about the Q-Kidz Dance Team in the West End. A trailer of the film is now posted online.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
