As a first-time mother, journalist Dani McClain had questions about how best to provide for her young daughter. What she discovered from interviews with other women is that black motherhood is nothing short of revolutionary.

Reporter, author and the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County's 2020 Writer in Residence Dani McClain (@drmcclain) joins Cincinnati Edition to discuss her new book, We Live for the We: The Political Power of Black Motherhood. McClain will have events scheduled as the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County's new writer in residence. We'll have a link to those events on our website as they are announced.

You can also read McClain's Writer in Residence blog posts and listen to her first Inside the Writer's Headpodcast appearance with 2019 Writer in Residence Jessica Strawser.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
