Republican incumbent Matt Bevin (left) and Democrat Andy Beshear will face each other on Kentucky's ballot in November.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.

The race for governor arrives in Northern Kentucky on Tuesday with a debate at NKU.

Incumbent Republican Matt Bevin will face Democratic Attorney General Andy Beshear exactly one week before voters go to the polls to choose between them.

One recent poll showed the race in a dead heat.

Beshear visited WVXU for a one-on-one interview with Cincinnati Edition host Michael Monks. Bevin's campaign did not make the governor available for an interview with WVXU. On Tuesday's show, listeners will hear Beshear's interview, as well as parts of a recent speech Bevin gave to the Kentucky Association of counties.

Following their respective segments, NKU political science professor Ryan Salzman will join Cincinnati Edition for analysis on the state of the race.
