More Races Mean More Weekend Road Closures

Two events take place this weekend that require some road closures. Here's what you need to know before heading out the door. 

Saturday, Oct. 19

The Haunted Hustle 4EG Four Miler takes place Saturday. In addition to possibly spotting runners in costume, you'll also see the following roads closed starting at noon: 

  • Freedom Way between Marian Spencer Way and Joe Nuxhall Way (closes at 11 a.m.)
  • Mehring Way between Central Avenue and E. Pete Rose Way 
  • Elm Street south of Second Street 
  • Race Street south of Second Street (garage access maintained) 
  • Rosa Parks Street restricted to local access only south of Second Street 
  • Marian Spencer Way south of Second Street (garage access maintained) 
  • Joe Nuxhall Way south of Second Street 
  • Freedom Way between Elm Street and Joe Nuxhall Way 
  • Johnny Bench Way 
  • Broadway southbound closed south of Third Street 
  • E. Pete Rose Way eastbound closed between Broadway and Eggleston Avenue 
  • Riverside Drive eastbound between Eggleston Avenue and Bains Street 


Roads will reopen at approximately 2 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 20 

On Sunday, survivors, caregivers, family members, brain tumor specialists and community members will participate in the Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure 5K. The following streets will close beginning at 8 a.m.: 

  • Mehring Way between Joe Nuxhall Way and E. Pete Rose Way 
  • Taylor Southgate Bridge 
  • E. Pete Rose Way eastbound between Broadway and Eggleston Avenue 
  • Riverside Drive eastbound between Eggleston Avenue and Bains Street

These roads will reopen at approximately 11 a.m.
