Helping Young News Consumers Sort Fact From Fiction

With a barrage of "fake news" filling our social feeds and impacting our elections, Scripps is teaming up with the News Literacy Project to help younger news consumers distinguish fact from fiction.

Journalists from across Scripps's local television stations and national brands like Newsy will work directly with students and teachers in the News Literacy Project's national network, helping to provide tools to determine which information should be trusted, shared and acted upon. The goal is to empower the younger generation – and the next wave of voters – about quality, objective journalism and the important role it plays in a democracy.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the project is Scripps CEO Adam Symson and Alan Miller, founder and CEO of the News Literacy Project.
