Independence Day typically inspires many Americans to re-examine our nation’s founding principles and their relevance to our current circumstances.

In his latest book, How the Ideals of America's Founders Lead Us to Purposeful Living, Xavier University Distinguished Service Professor of History Roger Fortin, Ph.D., makes the case that embracing the founders' belief of "one for all and all for one" can teach us how to live with more meaning and purpose.

Roger Fortin joins Cincinnati Edition to discuss the ideals of our nation's founders and how adhering to those principles today can lead to a more meaningful life.

Roger Fortin will be at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in the Crestview Mall for a talk and book signing on July 17 at 7 p.m.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
