Tornadoes, Budgets, FC Cincinnati And More Top Stories This Week

Jim Nolan

So far, the National Weather Service has confirmed at least 17 tornadoes touched downed in Ohio Monday night. Dayton, Brookville, Trotwood, Celina and other areas suffered severe damage.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has declared a state of emergency in three Ohio counties after surveying the damage left behind by the storms. One death from the storms has been confirmed. Thousands are still without power as recovery efforts continue.

More than 60 people offered their thoughts on Cincinnati's proposed budget during a public hearing Wednesday night. The city budget must be approved by June 30.

The same day FC Cincinnati and West End residents reach an agreement and city council passes ordinances to allow construction of the new soccer stadium, the team named a new general manager. Gerard Nijkamp (pronounced NIE-camp) will run its soccer operations for FC Cincinnati.
