The Senate passes resolutions to withdraw U.S. support for Saudi-backed forces at war in Yemen and to condemn Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. House Democrats call for a full investigation into the death of a 7-year-old girl from Guatemala who died while in Border Patrol custody.

During a contentious televised meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, President Donald Trump threatens to shut down the government if congress doesn't provide funding for a border wall.

And just as Trump's former longtime attorney Michael Cohen is sentenced to three years in prison, the parent company of the National Enquirer admits it coordinated with the Trump 2016 campaign to suppress a story so it wouldn't influence the outcome of the election.
