Jimi Hendrix, Freddie King & kd lang on The Blues
This week's blues show, Saturday night, December 8th at 11pm, starts off with a song from the new Jimi Hendrix 3cd/dvd box set which also has a 48-page booklet with photos, song drafts in his handwriting, and liner notes. The first set also includes music from the Allman Brothers at Ludlow Garage and the James Gang.
The second set of this blues show includes songs from Delbert McClinton, Freddie King, Aretha Franklin, and Long John Baldry. And the third and last set features music from k.d. lang, Bonnie Raitt, Garland Jeffreys, the Blind Boys of Alabama, and Al Jarreau. k.d. lang will be on a PBS special airing nationwide December 14th at 9pm featuring her 25th anniversary concert taped in San Antonio.
