Fillmore Wind Program's holiday concert

The Fillmore Wind Program will present their 2017 holiday concert on Saturday, December 2nd, at 7pm at Mt. Healthy High School with special guest vocalist Nancy James.  Frank Johnson recently spoke with their artistic director, Dr. James Daughters, about the Program.

The Fillmore Wind Program is an umbrella for three bands: their mainstay Fillmore Wind Band, the Fillmore Philharmonic Brass Band, and the Fillmore Chamber Winds.  Dr. Daughters begins his conversation with Frank Johnson with fascinating information about namesake Henry Fillmore who was a Cincinnati native.  Fillmore has been compared to John Phillip Sousa and loved circus music.  Fillmore's most popular song was written for the Cincinnati Zoo.

There's also a discussion of each of the three bands, the upcoming December 2nd concert, and future band activities.
