Radio personality Faith Daniels received a wedding anniversary gift she'll never forget – a nomination for a prestigious Marconi Award from the National Association of Broadcasters.

Daniels, who worked 17 years here onWCIN-AM,WMOJ-FMandWIZF-FM, was nominated for "Medium Market Personality of the Year" as afternoon drive host for Dayton's WROU-FM(92.1). She's been program director, community affairs liaison and afternoon DJ at the R&B station since 2011, after leaving Cincinnati'sMOJO100.3.

Also nominated for Marconi Awards were WLW-AM ("News/Talk Station of the Year"); Mason High School graduate Dan Patrick ("Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year"); and Dayton country station WHKO-FM ("Medium Market Station of the Year").

"God is soooooooo amazing! It's just an honor just to be nominated!" says Daniels, who still lives in Cincinnati. The Louisville native came here in 1994 forWCIN-AM(1994-96). After that she went to MIX94.1 (1997-1999); the WIZ as marketing and promotions director (1999-2001);MOJO94.4 (2001-2006); and the newMOJO(2006-2011).

"It's been a wonderful journey! I have loved radio since I started in Louisville, KY, at the age of 14 on WLOU-AM (1350). I bounced around from there to Clarksville, TN (WABD) to Davenport IA (KALA-FM 88.5) and then Rock Island IL (WPXR-FM 98.9) before coming to Cincinnati," she says.

"I never thought about being nominated for such a prestigious award. I just believed that if you worked hard and give as much of yourself as you possibly can that God will reward you in due time."

She credits her Dayton success to her WROU-FM managers;  the cluster of sister stations (WING, WGTZ, WDHT, WCLI); their promotions team; and her family which lets her "be away from home soooo much," she says.

"I am only allowed to be me because of the support of those around me," she says.

Winners will be announced Sept. 22 at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Nashville.

Patrick, whose national 9 a.m.-noon Premiere Networks weekday show airs on WSAI-AM (1360), faces competition from Jay Mohr, Delilah and Elvis Duran (all Premiere Networks) and Erazno y la Chokolata from Entravision.
