According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, one in five women and one in 16 men are sexually assaulted while in college. These cases frequently make headlines, such as the recent case of Brock Turner at Stanford University, whose short sentence of six months for sexual assault sparked outrage.

Universities have their own policies when it comes to dealing with these cases, starting with Title IX Offices. Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender, including sexual violence, in educational programs.

Here to talk about campus sexual assault and the university policies surrounding it are Chief Title IX Officer at XavierUniversity’'sTitle IX Office, Kate Lawson; Deputy Title IX Coordinator and SexualAssault Response Coordinator at MiamiUniversity'’sTitle IX Office,BeccaGetson; and President of Thomas More College, David Armstrong
