Update 06/09/16:   A source said Thursday there will be no public event, because of time restraints on the candidate.

Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, will be in Cincinnati Monday for a private fundraising event.

Earlier plans to hold a public rally have been canceled, the source told WVXU Thursday.

On his Facebook page, Cranley issued an invite to supporters and a link to buy rather high-priced tickets to the event at his home. The link lists a price range for tickets from $1,000 to $33,400. The money of those who pay $33,400 to be a "chair" of the event and attend a private reception with Clinton will go to the Democratic National Committee.

"Dena (Cranley's wife) and I are honored to host at our home a fundraiser for the next president of the United States, Hillary Clinton, on Monday night," Cranley wrote. "All are welcome. Please share and help us make history."

The mayor, who is up for re-election himself next year, was one of Clinton's early Cincinnati campaign supporters. And the Clintons have supported Cranley in his past campaigns.

Clinton nailed down the nomination earlier this week when she passed the mark of 2,383 pledged delegates to the Democratic National Convention next month in Philadelphia. According to the Associated Press count, Clinton has 2,765 delegates to 1,864 for her rival for the nomination, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
