Proposed Cincinnati School Levy To Cost About $300 Per $100,000
The proposed Cincinnati Public School levy will be just shy of 8-mills.
According to CPS Spokeswoman Janet Walsh, the actual ballot language still has to be approved by the board, but the millage amount has been certified as 7.93.
If passed, Auditor Dusty Rhodes says the five-year levy would would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $277.55 a year.
CPS says without the five-year emergency levy, which is expected to produce $48 million annually, the district would face a $60 million deficit.
Board President Erika Copeland-Dansby says the new money would help pay for preschool expansion and innovative curriculum centered around technology and career readiness.
