Local Neighborhoods Deemed "Food Deserts" - What It Means And What's Being Done
Several local neighborhoods, including portions of Avondale, Bond Hill, Evanston, Northside and South Fairmount, are considered food deserts, according to the city. They lack sufficient grocery stores and farmers' markets able provide healthy food options to area residents.
