The Blues: 2.20.16 show

This week on The Blues, the spotlight's on a new Alligator Records release, "God Don't Never Change: The Songs of Blind Willie Johnson".  This compilation has a talented group of musicians contributing songs from the Blind Boys of Alabama to Rickie Lee Jones.  On tonight's show, the first set features 2 songs by Tom Waits, one from Lucinda Williams, and another from Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi from this album.

The second set starts off with T-Bone Burnett and Garland Jeffreys.  Mr. Jeffreys' next tour begins on March 11th in Asbury Park.  Following these two songs, you'll hear from Deborah Coleman and Tony Joe White.

begins the third set with "Mama's Stray Baby."  She's playing at Fur Peace Ranch in August, and the August 13th concert with Eric Bibb is already sold out.  After that, you'll hear songs by Tracy Nelson and .  And, blues legend Buddy Guy closes out this edition of "The Blues" with a 1961 song, "Stone Crazy."  Buddy Guy's coming to Cincinnati's Taft Theatre on Sunday, March 13th with the Experience Hendrix tour.
