Former Reds Clubhouse Manager Dies

  • Visitation for Bernie Stowe will be Sunday, Feb. 14th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Elder High School (Schaeper Center), 4005 Glenway Ave 45205.
  • Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 15 at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 3006 W 8th St 45205

Original Post:Funeral arrangements haven't been announced yet for former Cincinnati Reds clubhouse manager Bernie Stowe. He died Tuesday at age 80.Stowe joined the team in 1947 as a clubhouse boy. He stayed with the team until his retirement in 2013.

In a release, Reds President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Castellini says, "There is no one in the Reds' family more loved, admired and respected than Bernie Stowe. For almost 70 years he deeply touched the lives of our players, our coaching staffs and our front office. Bernie and his family have dedicated their entire lives to this organization and to our city, and for that we are forever grateful."

Stowe is survived by his wife, Priscilla, and four children. His son, Mark, has also worked for the Reds since 1975. He's currently the visiting clubhouse manager. Another son, Rick, began assisting his father in 1981 and is in his 20th season as the home clubhouse manager.
