Another night of Hollywood movie awards, another night of no awards for “Carol.”

“Carol” was shut out at the “21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards” Sunday, as it was the previous Sunday at the “Golden Globe Awards.”

It’s another bad sign for “Carol” at the Academy Awards on Feb. 28, when the film is nominated in six categories.

“Carol,” filmed here in spring of 2014, had been nominated for Critics’ Choice Awards for best picture, actress (Cate Blanchett), supporting actress (Rooney Mara) and director (Todd Haynes).

Instead went to “Spotlight” (best picture), Brie Larson of “Room” (best actress); AliciaVikanderof “The Danish Girl” (supporting actress) and George Miller of “Mad Max: Fury Road” (director).

Leonardo DiCaprio was named best actor for “The Revenant,” which he also won at the Golden Globes the previous week. The “Critics’ Choice Awards” were presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association.

Next up: The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, on TNT and TBS. Blanchett is up for best actress; Mara for supporting actress. “Carol” was not nominated for a SAG best picture award.

“Carol” has six nominations – but not best picture – at the 88th Academy Awards Sunday, Feb. 28, on ABC (7 p.m., Channel 9). It is nominated for best actress (Blanchett), supporting actress (Mara), cinematography, costume design and adapted screenplay.
