Tell Us Your Favorite Holiday Tradition

Whether it's putting up a special Christmas decoration, making a specific treat during Hanukkah, or just making an annual pilgrimage to Krohn Conservatory or the Festival of Lights, it seems almost everyone has at least one favorite tradition this time of year.

WVXU wants to know YOUR favorite tradition for an upcoming story to air on 91.7. Make a voice recording on your smart phone and email it to reporter Tana Weingartner by 9 a.m. on Thursday December 17 for possible inclusion in the piece.

Use the following template and try to keep your message short (under 30 seconds!).

My name is _(first and last name)_ and my favorite holiday tradition is _________ because ___________________.

Then tune to 91.7 WVXU to hear the crowd sourced results sometime before the end of the year.

Recording Instructions

iPhone:

1. Open the Voice Memo app on the iPhone (look for image of sound wave.)

2. Hit red button to start recording.

3. Hold the iPhone vertically and upside down (so you’re talking directly into the receiver), about 4 inches inches from your mouth, just like you’d hold a microphone. As you’re speaking, be wary about heavy breathing sounds – especially words with “H” sounds. Try to speak forward, not directly into the receiver. It will still pick up your voice. (If this sounds complicated, just hold the phone like you would if you were talking on it.)

My name is _(first and last name)_and my favorite holiday tradition is _________ because _________.

4. When finished recording, hit red button to stop recording. Then tap the word “Done,” right next to it.

5. Name the file and hit Save.

6. Tap the name of the file. Now, under the line representing the audio, on the left, tap the image of the piece of paper with the up arrow.

7. Choose email and put in my address: (TanaWeingartner@gmail.com)

8. Hit send. Voila!
