Former Columbus Police Vice Officer Andrew Mitchell has been found not guilty after being tried for a second time on charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter related to the death of Donna Castleberry.

Use-of-force expert Kevin Davis testified Monday that former Columbus Vice Officer Andrew Mitchell was justified in the deadly shooting of Donna Castleberry in 2018.

Mitchell testified for over three hours on Friday and faced questions about the 2018 deadly shooting of Donna Castleberry from Franklin County prosecutors and his defense attorney.

The former Columbus police vice officer is charged with the 2018 killing of Donna Castleberry. Mitchell's first trial last year ended in a mistrial.

This is the second murder trial for Andrew Mitchell, who retired from the Columbus Division of Police in 2019.
