Ohio Christian Alliance To Place A Half Million Voting Guides In Churches

Conservative Christian churches throughout Ohio will soon be getting guides to distribute to members suggesting how to vote on statewide ballot issues. Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles reports.

The Ohio Christian Alliance’s Chris Long says his group intends to send out a half million voter guides to churches to tell members to vote yes on Issue 2, which intends to make it harder to put monopolies in the constitution but vote no on Issue 3, the plan that would legalize marijuana in Ohio.  Long says churches can do this without losing their tax exempt status.

“As long as churches aren’t endorsing a candidate but they are taking a position on an issue.”

Long says his group is not taking a position on Issue 1, which would change the way state lawmakers’ districts are created.
