Comfort food. Even the term is soothing. It evokes images of gooey grilled cheese, spiced up chili, or hearty mac and cheese.
As early as 1988, the upscale Food & Wine magazine declared comfort food to be a hot trend. It’s still trending.
A number of area restaurants are serving up classic favorites with a new twist.
