Weekly Reporter Roundtable
In what's been hailed as a major victory by reform advocates, last week the Ohio Supreme Court in a pair of 4-3 rulings held that Ohio's congressional district maps, as well as the maps for the state legislature, were unconstitutional.
Now state leaders are on the clock
The Ohio General Assembly has just 30 days to redraw the congressional maps if they want to maintain a say in the process. The Ohio Redistricting Commission has just 10 days to come up with a new plan for the statehouse maps.
In 2021, both bodies failed to reach bipartisan consensus on how the lines should be drawn. Now the ball is back in their court.
We are taking a look at what the rulings mean for redistricting in Ohio today on All Sides with Ann Fisher’s Weekly Reporter Roundtable.
