Sportswriter Melissa Ludtke sued Major League Baseball in 1977 after she was denied access to the New York Yankees’ locker room while reporting on the World Series.

She prevailed, and as women journalists gained a foothold into the wider sports universe, they experienced and witnessed some of the ugly underbelly of professional sports.

Today on All Sides with Ann Fisher, sports journalist Julie DiCaro shares her experiences in a new book that explores how sexism pervades sports at all levels.
