Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther re-elected to third term
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther has been re-elected to serve a third term. He defeated challenger Joe Motil on Tuesday
Ginther won with 63% of the vote, according to unofficial voting results released through the Franklin County Board of Elections.
During his campaign for re-election, Ginther appeared on WOSU's All Sides.
Ginther discussed what he viewed as his biggest accomplishment so far as Columbus' mayor, which is investing in neighborhoods, particularly Linden and the Hilltop.
One thing Ginther said he would have done differently as mayor is how city leaders responded to Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, but he thinks changes to the police department since then are better-addressing community expectations.
