Barrett is back

J.T. Barrett served his one-game suspension, stemming from his OVI arrest on Halloween, and this weekend against Illinois, fans can expect Barrett running the Ohio State offense.

Athletes in social justice movements

Football players at the University of Missouri played a big part in the recent resignation of school president Tim Wolfe. He stepped down after the football team refused to play until he was removed for what many called a failure to respond to racial tension on campus. For a closer look at the history of athletes participating in political or social movements, Steve and Thomas spoke with Doug Hartmann, a sociologist at the University of Minnesota who's written about the intersection of race and sports.

Most Ohio State fans might still be thinking about football, but it's also basketball season. Thomas and Steve talked with Columbus Dispatch beat writer Adam Jardy for a season preview.

Steve Brown grew up in nearby Richwood, Ohio and now lives there with his wife and sons. He started his journalism career as a weekend board operator at WOSU while majoring in journalism at Ohio State, where he also wrote for the student newspaper The Lantern and co-founded the organization Students for Public Broadcasting.
