Time To Hit The Panic Button? OSU Basketball In A Free Fall

Steve Grant
Ohio State head coach Thad Matta is headed back to the drawing board after dropping four straight games.

Can Ohio State Basketball right the ship? They have lost four straight conference games and are a long way off from their No. 3 ranking they held just weeks ago.

This week on WOSU Public Media’s After The Score hosts Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley talk about Ohio State basketball’s recent struggles with Rob Oller (@rollerCD) of the Columbus Dispatch.

Later, Andy Kroll (@AndrewKroll) of Mother Jones calls in from Washington D.C. to talk about the NFL’s tax exemption, and whether they should be able to keep it.

The show finishes up with Steve and Thomas voicing their opinion on one of the most boring scoring plays in all of sports: the extra-point attempt in football. Should the point be awarded automatically? Should teams have to earn it?

Steve Brown grew up in nearby Richwood, Ohio and now lives there with his wife and sons. He started his journalism career as a weekend board operator at WOSU while majoring in journalism at Ohio State, where he also wrote for the student newspaper The Lantern and co-founded the organization Students for Public Broadcasting.
