Monday marks the official start of the search for the next superintendent for Columbus City Schools.

Administrators need to find a permanent replacement for Talissa Dixon, who announced in December that she would be retiring at the end of the current school year. But Dixon has already left the superintendent position and is now working as what the district calls an "educational administrator."

Angela Chapman took over as interim superintendent in January.

The school board recently picked the search firm Ray & Associates to help find the next superintendent.

Board members hope to have the new hire in place for the start of the 2023-24 school year.

People can apply for the position on the district’s website.
