Columbus City Council cancels meeting due to COVID exposures
The Columbus City Council has canceled today's regularly scheduled Monday meeting as some members are following quarantine guidance relating to COVID-19 exposure.
"Some Council Members were exposed to positive COVID-19 cases and are following federal guidance by quarantining," said Council President Shannon G. Hardin.
The council statement said the state of Ohio requires public meetings to be in-person, and members attending an in-person meeting would violate public health guidelines.
The next regularly scheduled Council meeting will be January 31, 2022.
"The best defense against catching COVID-19 continues to be wearing a mask around others and social distancing, and I encourage all Columbus residents who aren't vaccinated to get their shots and booster as soon as possible," said Hardin.
