OhioHealth Announces New Hospital In Pickerington
OhioHealth announced Monday it will be building a new hospital in Pickerington.
The health system released its plans to build a six-story, over 200,000 square-foot hospital building in the Southeast suburb that will include expanded cancer services along with general care and surgery.
OhioHealth executive Kevin Lutz said in a press release that they are committed to expanding the hospital's services in Pickerington, where they've had a medical campus since 2015. The new building will be named the OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital.
“Since we opened the OhioHealth Pickerington Medical Campus in 2015, we have continued to learn about the healthcare needs of those who live and work in and around Pickerington," Lutz said. "We are excited to add more life-saving capabilities to our campus to better serve the community.”
The hospital will also include heart and vascular services, a stroke program and a level three trauma center, which the health system said will be the first trauma center in Pickerington.
Construction is slated to begin this fall, with the hospital projected to open in late 2023.
