The July housing report released this week by Columbus Realtors showed that for the fourth consecutive month, new listings of homes for sale increased by 20%.

However, the number of home sales increased by only 2.7% in July. That compares to double-digit percentage jumps in eight of the last 10 months.

President of Columbus Realtors Michael Jones said on the association’s website that this could be a change in the pace of housing activity in which the increase in inventory is giving buyers more choices, as well as more flexibility to consider their options.

The report also found that the average price of a home sold in July went up nearly 13%.
