Short North art venues will begin welcoming visitors Saturday for the first in-person gallery hop since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

The 37-year-old, first Saturday of the month tradition went online last April, and it’s been carrying on virtually ever since. But now, with COVID cases down and vaccinations climbing, Short North galleries are ready to host visitors in-person again.

The June 5 hop will feature visual arts in various mediums at dozens of galleries and other spaces in the district as well as live performers on the street.

Organizers are also planning to get started earlier than usual after the long layoff. Most of the receptions and other events will get going by 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
