More Black leaders are expressing outrage about the Columbus police killing of 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant on Tuesday.

Bryant died after Columbus police responded to a disturbance call. Police body camera footage appears to show Bryant wielding a knife, knocking down one girl and then approaching another person. That's when an officer shot her.

Attorney Sean Walton represents the family of Casey Goodson Jr., a Black man killed by a Franklin County Sheriff's deputy in December.

“This family was given no opportunity to grieve and to understand what happened,” says Walton. “And I don't believe that the family was even informed about the body cam footage being released before it happened.”

Columbus City Council president Shannon Hardin says he's grateful that police involved shootings are now handled by state investigators. Hardin and Walton spoke Tuesday on All Sides with Ann Fisher.
