Jill Stein Campaigns For Green Party Candidate In Ohio Governor Race
Two-time Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is in Ohio stumping for the party's gubernatorial candidate.
Stein joins governor candidate Constance Gadell-Newton at stops across the state Tuesday through Thursday.
Gadell-Newton is vying for the open seat held by Republican Gov. John Kasich who's term-limited. Major-party candidates are Republican Attorney General Mike DeWine and Democrat Richard Cordray, the former federal consumer watchdog. Travis Irvine is running as the Libertarian Party nominee.
Stein, Gadell-Newton and running mate Brett Joseph will appear with other Green Party candidates at stops in Kent and Columbus on Tuesday, Cincinnati and Toledo on Wednesday and the Toledo suburb of Sylvania on Thursday.
Gadell-Newton, a Columbus attorney, ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Ohio House last year, receiving 7 percent of the vote.
During the 2016 election, Stein came in a distant fourth with 0.84 percent of the vote in Ohio.
