The main branch of the library will open at 1 pm on Monday. It normally opens weekdays at 9 am.

Officials with the Columbus Metropolitan Library says the main branch on South Grant Avenue will stay closed until 1 pm on Monday to let staff clean up after a Sunday shooting that injured a man.

The incident was reported around 3 pm Sunday as an active shooter situation.

Police say Joseph Steward, 28, faces felonious assault charges. Police say Steward admitted chasing the victim through the second floor of the library with his gun drawn after an argument that started near an elevator.

Police say the victim was taken to Grant Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the ankle.
