Unemployment In Ohio Remains Slightly Higher Than Nation
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports Ohio’s unemployment rate for March stood at 5.1 percent. That number did not change from February’s rate.
Ohio’s nonagricultural wage and salary employment decreased 4,100 over the month.
The number of unemployed workers in Ohio in March was 294,000, the same as February. That number though climbed by 9,000 in the past 12 months.
The U.S. unemployment rate for March 2017 was 4.5 percent. That’s down 0.2 points lower than in February 2017, and 0.5 percentage points lower than in March 2016.
