A grand jury has indicted a Delaware man on rape charges for alleging raping a girl he met on an instant-messaging app.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says the case should serve as a wake-up call for anyone who using these kind of apps. An indictment says 23-year-old Craig Andrietti met a 17-year-old girl using the instant-messaging app Kik.

Prosecutors say the two met up in person for the first time at Comfest near downtown Columbus last weekend, and the girl was allegedly raped a short time later at her house.

Andrietti faces rape and kidnapping charges. He’s scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.
