Browns Returning To Columbus For Scrimmage

The Cleveland Browns will once again play a preseason scrimmage in Ohio Stadium.

The Greater Columbus Sports Commission says the Browns will host the Orange and Browns scrimmage in the Horseshoe Saturday, August 6.

It’s the second straight year the Brown will scrimmage on the OSU campus and this year’s game will once again be free to the public.

The Columbus Partnership recently dropped a request for $5 million in state money to build a practice facility for the Browns in Columbus.

The request angered many northeast Ohio leaders and Browns fans still sensitive about the old Browns moving to Baltimore in 1995.

Correction: An earlier version of this story indicated this is the third straight year the Browns have held a scrimmage at Ohio State.
