Cavs Get Shot At Golden State Without Star Forward Draymond Green
The Cleveland Cavaliers have just been given some much-needed help from the NBA: The league says Golden State's Draymond Green will not be able to play in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. He's been suspended for a game after an on-court situation with the Cavs’ Lebron James that led to a flagrant foul.
In accordance with NBA rules, Green will serve the suspension Monday night when the Warriors host Cleveland.
The Warriors own a 3-1 lead in the series into Game 5.
Green has now accrued his fourth Flagrant Foul point of the 2016 postseason. League rules call for an automatic suspension if a player accrues a fourth Flagrant Foul in one postseason.
The incident occurred when Green made unnecessary contact with a retaliatory swipe of his hand in the groin of Cleveland's LeBron James. The Cleveland forward has been assessed a technical foul for his role in the altercation.
The league has also ruled the Cleveland coach TyronnLue has been fined $25,000 for post-game comments regarding the officials.
The Cavs have never won an NBA title.
