Central Ohio Home Sales Set Record In February
According to the report the number of Central Ohio homes sold in February hit a record for the month, even the average sale price rose slightly from last year.
The group Columbus Realtors says just more than 1,600 homes were sold last month. The average price was $186,000. While it was a record for February, the Columbus Realtors president Elect Mic Gordon, says there's just one thing that's keeping these numbers from being stronger
"We're not seeing near the number of new construction or new residents being built like we did in 2000."
According to the report, the number of homes available for sale remains low - just more than 54,000, 20 percent less than last year. Gordon says while homeowners are reluctant to put their homes up for sale, the market is great for home buyers, with low interest rates and housing affordability.
