Ohio Governor John Kasich campaigns with former N. H. Senator John Sununu in Concord.

Governor Kasich  took his momentum out of New Hampshire to South Carolina ahead of this weekend's debate and the state's February 20th primary.

The governor, who came in second behind Donald Trump in Tuesday's New Hampshire plans a series of appearances today in South Carolina.

Kasich's campaign has already downplayed the governor's chances of winning the first Southern primary.

We wanted to know more about the significance of Kasich's second place showing in New Hampshire...so we turned to OSU Political Scientist Emeritus Paul beck for some answers.

Listen to WOSU's Marilyn Smith's conversation with Paul Beck.

Paul Beck is a Emeritus professor in the Department of Political Science at Ohio State.
