OSU's recruiting class is rated among the best in the nation by most recruiting publications.

Letters of commitment are coming in for the Ohio State football team on the first day high school seniors can officially commit to the school of their choice.

National signing day has become a cultural phenomenon of sorts, with high school seniors often picking their chosen school’s hat off a table, sometimes on national television.

Several experts have the Ohio State class ranked as the best in the nation. It’s highlighted by defensive lineman Nick Bosa out of Florida. He’s the younger brother of All-American Joey Bosa, who’s leaving OSU early for the NFL.

Other top recruits include Dwayne Haskins, OSU’s only quarterback in this class. Keandre Jones is considered one of the nation’s best linebackers.

The top Ohio natives in the OSU class include Malik Harrison, a three-sport star at nearby Walnut Ridge High School.

Steve Brown grew up in nearby Richwood, Ohio and now lives there with his wife and sons. He started his journalism career as a weekend board operator at WOSU while majoring in journalism at Ohio State, where he also wrote for the student newspaper The Lantern and co-founded the organization Students for Public Broadcasting.
